Download Auto Hz: Control Per-App Refresh Rate on OnePlus 8 and 7 devices

OnePlus users can now use AutoHz : control Per-App Refresh Rate on OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro along with OnePlus 7 series devices -OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro.

OnePlus is one of the most popular OEMs and it certainly has various reasons for being so. One such being the amazing 120Hz High Refresh Rate Display that supports +QHD Resolution. Even the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will not be supporting 120 Hz refresh rate at QHD+ resolution! But OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro have got you covered!

Now even though OnePlus offers both 120Hz high Refresh Rate with +QHD Resolution support, users always need more. The Refresh Rate settings on OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro apply uniformly to all the apps on the device.

Now you might be wondering that OnePlus had earlier stated that the refresh rate on OnePlus 8 devices will be switched dynamically based on scenarios. However, the scenarios for this Switch haven’t exactly been mentioned explicitly.

On OnePlus device, you will get the option of setting Refresh Rate to either – 1. 120 Hz or the Auto option which shifts from 120 to 90 Hz as per some set criteria and 2. 60 HZ. So you see this doesn’t really give you the entire or most of the control on Refresh rate of your OnePlus device.

A relief is that, There’s one quick solution to this of using The Hidden 90Hz/120 Hz setting which you can enable by using ADB commands. But one major drawback of this settings is that the battery power consumption will increase by a huge rate when you use those commands.

Dont feel helpless just yet. Now that you are here, there’s nothing you need to be worrying about since we have got you covered. You can now actually change the Refresh Rate of individual app. Wondering how? Thanks to XDA Developer Member – Arter97 whose AutoHZ app will let’s users control Per-app Refresh rate on OnePlus devices.
