Xiaomi files trademark application for POCO F2

Looks like Xiaomi has taken New Year’s resolution to whole another level. Be it the announcement of Xiaomi’s latest Custom interface skin MIUI 12 or releasing Android 10 Beta updates for multiple Xiaomi devices at once, Xiaomi has started moving at a faster pace than its counterparts.

Just recently, Xiaomi launched a portable Mini Bluetooth Speaker at just $14 and also rolled out Android 10 Updates for Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Mi 9 SE, Mi MIX 3, Mi 8 SE in China and now we have another major story on Xiaomi.

Xiaomi has now filed a trademark application for POCO F2. It’s been over a year that the Xiaomi POCO F1 fans have been waiting for a successor of the F1 device but the year went by and fans had to compromise.

However, that’s not the case anymore as Xiaomi has filed trademark applications for POCO F2. Via a Twitter handle by the name @_the_tech_guy, images of the application that was filed on the 4 December 2019 at the China Trademark Office have been shared –

As you can see the application number for POCO F2 is 4280005. Apart from this image, nothing else has been disclosed yet. The only thing we know for sure is that Xiaomi is all set to launch the successor of POCOPHONE F1 – POCO F2.

It was no surprise to see that Xiaomi has filed the trademark application in China as the predecessor of POCO F2 had its trademark application filed in the home country as well.

Wherever the trademark application might have been filed, it would be interesting to see what the POCO F2 brings along after a successful service of the POCO F1. However, it would be too early to say or assume about its features.

Now coming to the launch of this device, we could expect POCO F2 launching in March or April considering the launch of POCO F1 two months following the trademark application and also then fact that Xiaomi Mi 10 and 10 Pro will be launched somewhere in February but Xiaomi will not be launching it in India.

Thus, POCO F2 a flagship alternative! Well, time will tell!

Stay tuned for more updates on this story!

Happy Androiding:-)
