Tencent unveils its Auto-Chess title for Android called Chess Rush

Tencent Holdings, China’s biggest gaming and social media firm by revenue announced Tuesday that they’re “just days away” from releasing their own title, Chess Rush on mobile.

Chess Rush thus joins Dota Underlords (Valve), Teamfight Tactics (Riot Games), and Auto Chess (Drodo Studio) in the already saturated autobattler market. The news also comes mere hours after Tencent was confirmed as the Co-published for Drodo Auto Chess in China.

Chess Rush will feature over 50 heroes and will consists of eight-player matches where there can only be one winner. Victory is only achieved once you’ve knocked all 7 rivals out of the race. Matches in the game’s turbo mode are short and fast-paced, lasting only 10 minutes.

The strategy/card-based game will also have a co-op mode which will allows you to team up with friends to take on other teams from all over the world. It’s four teams of two all duking it out in intense, strategic battle to be declared the best of the bunch.

It’s going to be interesting to see how it stacks up against the likes of Dota Underlords and the original Auto chess. Looks like a decent game but how it takes on the big boys is surely a thing to watch out for.
