Samsung Galaxy M20 August security update rolls out; Galaxy Theme & One UI Home app also updated

Samsung has been a tough competition even after the arrival of so many cheap smartphones from the Chinese OEM. However, the company has never been so good regarding the smartphones below the price level of 300 dollars. The budget devices from Samsung have mostly been disappointing the users. But hereโ€™s a good news for all the Samsung lovers out there. The company has made an exception in this convention for the M series devices.

The Samsung M Series that includes devices like M10, M20, M30, and M40 have proven to be amazing until now. These devices having ranged from a 100 to 300 dollars have actually been proven to be a good substituent for Chinese brands, however, not a competition. But they sure make a good series at an affordable rate, unlike most of the other Samsung smartphones.

People nowadays consider the OTA Updates frequency of the OEMs while buying a Smartphone. With Samsung, it has not been a Grade A, but we sure do see updates quite frequently. Let us take for example the M30 that got two updates in a day, just yesterday and the M40 which received the August Security Patch a few days ago.

The same is now seeming to be applicable to the Samsung M20. Samsung Galaxy M20 August security update is now rolling out. The Samsung M20 is a Samsung Launched Android 8.1 Oreo based smartphone that later got bumped into Android 9.0 Pie and One UI. The device is powered by Exynos 7904 Processor and comes with 3 to 4 GB RAM.

As of now, we know that the Galaxy Theme and One UI Home app are also updated through this Security Patch. The complete changelog could not be obtained right now by us. And therefore not many other enhancements are known now. However, we will keep you updated with all the stories.

All we know for now is that the Build number of this update is M205GDXS2BSH2. It has not been global yet. But the users from the Asian countries โ€“ Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines have received it. Since the OTA Updates are released in patches, the rest of the world will get their hands on this update real soon.



Reports have it that the Security Patch has also updated the in-built Samsung Apps โ€“ Galaxy Themes used for customizing wallpapers, design elements and so on and One UI Home which is the Custom Skin of Samsung over the Android. The update has fixed a few bugs along with introduction of a few enhancements. There is no word about new features yet.
