Motorola is the US phone manufacture that has introduced to the world a great range of mobile phones. One of its major launches is the Motorola Moto G6. This Moto G6 device comes with a Snapdragon 450 processor.
Originally, the device came with Android Oreo 8.1 but later it was bumped into Android Pie 9.0 version. The US Carrier of this device was the first to release the update.
Recently the device got its update with build number PDS29.118-11-1. The Android Pie 9.0 May Security Patch that was introduced in the Moto G6 device that was initially very exiting, did not go well with the Moto G6 device.
Since the update of Android Pie rolled out in this Moto device, there have been complaints and observations about freezing of the device. There have been many questions and claims put forward on the Forum of Motorola. People have complained that the phone is lagging and turns unresponsive.
Some have noticed that the phone turns sluggish while going through any app or switching in between apps. There have been many requests regarding pushing a rollback update as well.
To deal with this situation as soon as possible, many users have also suggested Moto G6 users to disable the Motorola Apps. As these apps are in-built, they can’t be uninstalled. This may serve as a temporary fix to the problem.
Another suggestion to deal with this issue was by replacing the Moto Launcher with Nova Launcher can help in reducing the lagging issues by some margin. However, these all are just temporary workarounds and even using the device in Safe Mode or by factory reset, cannot help the situation of lag.
Not just Moto G6 users but the Moto G6 Play users too have spotted this error after the installation of Android Pie. Seeking so many requests and complaints, Motorla’s official MotoAgent has addressed this issue and have ensured users that they are working on this issue and the investigation on this has begun.
The MotoAgent has also asked the users to update their profile with the Device IMEI and also share the bug report. This is because, according to the MotoAgent, no lagging issues have been yet detected. And for the investigation, they would need the bug reports.
Finally, there has been some responsible action from a MotoAgent saying that the issue will be addressed in the future update and the users should clean the cache and data on the device if there are any issues with the Phone dialer, etc. Also, it is important for the users to know that the apps they are using are updated.
We hope that soon this issue will be fixed and Moto G6 and G6 Play users will receive an update or pushback update. Stay tuned for more stories on this topic!
