The Sony Xperia 1 & Xperia XZ2 family are getting August security update and if you are a Xperia 1 or XZ2 family then here is an article dedicated for you all.
The Sony Xperia 1 is the 2019 flagship of Sony and comes with the 4K ‘CinemaWide’ display panel. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. It has a trio of 12 MP camera sensors along with fingerprint sensor.
Last month, the dual SIM model of Xperia 1 (J9110) received the July Security Update.
And now a new build is available on the Sony OTA Server. The signficant part here is that the build number of the two updates differs a lot ( from 55.0.A.2.314 to 55.0.A.6.16) which may indicate a huge change between the two updates.
The update is now rolling out for the Russian and Ukranian models of Xperia 1 along with that some single SIM carriers are also receiving the update.
Eve though the changelog from Sony did not clear the air, we do confirm that this build also also includes the August Security Patch.
Now coming to the Xperia XZ2 family, along with Xperia 1, this one too is getting August security update. The Xperia XZ2 family that includes regular XZ2, XZ2 Premium and XZ2 Compact were the flagship of Xperia in the year 2018.
All the three devices are powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC and the difference between them comes in case of Battery and screen size. The new update is now rolling out and the build number of the update for the XZ2 is 52.0.A.8.131.
More Sony devices are expected to receive the August Security patch included builds.
Stay tuned for more.
