Redmi 9 teased to Launch in India on August 4; Expected to be available during Amazon Prime Day

Xiaomi’s Redmi series of smartphones never fail to impress the Indian audience. They pack some mid-range specifications and adaptable configurations at an entry-level price point. Redmi 9 is one such device that was launched in China last month.

It looks like the Chinese tech giant is bringing the Redmi 9 to India. It comes to a huge surprise for some of the tech enthusiasts as a lot of reports in the past suggested that Redmi 9 will arrive in the country as the Poco M2.  Poco has recently unveiled its Poco M2 Pro in India which is rebranded Redmi Note 9 Pro. So most of the enthusiasts thought the Redmi 9 falls under the Poco rebranding association.

Redmi India took it to Twitter announcing the arrival of Redmi device in the Indian market. It has the prime branding on the image which confirms that the new Redmi device is launching on August 4. But the shadow reads nine which suggests that the Redmi 9 may be launching in India on August 4. Apart from this, now we know that this device will be available on Amazon.

Redmi 9 will be launching in India in the same range as its Chinese variant starting at CNY 799 which roughly translates to 8500 for 4 GB RAM and 64 GB onboard storages. The 6 GB variant might as well launch for around CNY 1199 which roughly translates to 13000 in Indian currency.

Anyways, now that the Redmi 9 is coming to Indian markets, we certainly expect the Poco M2 to be another rebranded device from Redmi line-up.
