OnePlus 8 Pro is one of the finest Android flagships available on the market today. OnePlus 8 Pro was launched back in April alongside the OnePlus 8. Weeks after launch, a few content creators took it to Twitter and YouTube saying the Photochrom camera can see through delicate or thin plastics.
OnePlus 8 Pro came out with Quad-rear camera setup. Out of which the fourth sensor is a color-filter camera that has see-through capabilities. Everyone initially thought this is just a gimmick until a few creators proved that this really works. OnePlus temporarily disabled the color filter camera in China and a few other regions.
As for the Indian update, the Photochrome camera was re-enabled after temporarily being disabled. On the other hand, it was never turned off in the United States. The notes of the recent update mentioned “Adjusted Photochrom filter”. OnePlus user Avishek2882 took its community creating a poll asking whether the users want Photochrom Feature like Original?
As of now, 91.5% of the users said they want the Photochrom Filter back, 2.8% of the users said they do not want the feature to come back. 5.6% of the users were happy without it. Avishek2882 also added that YouTubers are blaming the brand for publicity purposes and they just need money from Adsense. That is a bold statement by the user which is definitely not true, but no one would want to lose a feature after paying a grand!
OnePlus 8 Pro Photochrom filter
Regardless of all this, I don’t think that this is a major let down for users. This color filter cannot be used for all types of photography. Talking about the recent update OnePlus 8 Pro received in the United States, which comes with a June security patch. Also an “Adjusted Photochrom filter”. The filter uses data about the lightning conditions collected by the color filter camera to generate photos with the main camera.
Filter intensity varies under distinctive lighting scenarios. OnePlus 8 Pro is the more expensive variant of the OnePlus 8 series. The device originates with Fluid AMOLED display, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, HDR10+, and a lot more. We get to see quad rear camera setup here with 48 MP primary camera with f/1.8, an 8 MP telephoto camera, 48 MP ultra-wide camera, and 5 MP f/2.4 color filter camera.
The device is grounded on Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and comes with UFS 3.0 128 GB and 256 GB storages. All this is backed by a 4510 mAh battery which can be charged with 30W fast charging. If you an OnePlus 8 Pro user, feel free to participate in the poll. It is not guaranteed whether OnePlus will add in the feature from the results of the poll, but you can share you opinion too.
