At the beginning of this month, Motorola US published the series of release notes. This was for the yet-to-come Android security patches for the Motorola devices -Moto G7 Play, G6 Play, Moto G6, G5s Plus, and Moto G5s, and Moto e5 Play. The updates that are in question will install August 2019 security patches to the devices.
Recently we has the Moto G7 and G7 Plus receiving the June Security update in the US. And in the coming days, the Moto Power 7 will also receive the August security update in the US.
With the motive of keeping the ses high outside the US, Motorola is now releasing the new updates for the Moto G6 Plus and Moto G6 Play in Europe as well. According to the sources, confirmations regarding the July and June security updates now rolling out have been received.
In case of the Moto G6 Plus, the mobile variant – RETEU has received a software update installing the firmware version PPWS29.116-20-8.
This update has brought the July Security Patch for G6 Plus. It has brought some bug fixes and fixes for the issues encountered in the earlier update. There has also been an improvisation in the general performance of the device.
Now coming to the Moto g6 Play, the software version is PPP29.55-35-12. There’s a good news for the G6 play users that they will be receiving more than the usual security update unlike G6 Plus. Therefore the update has come in a slightly big size of 600 MBs. The features introduced include –

- One-button navigation support.
- Digital Wellbeing support.
Now you wondering about the fact that digital wellbeing is a feature of Android Pie is acceptable. But Moto G6 Play missed put this feature in the Pie update.
Therefore now the G6 Play users can truly enjoy their Pie with the garnishing of Digital well being support.
There have been many reports from users on the Motorola forum regarding the “Hello Moto” sound at the time of rebooting that could not be disabled. This issue has affected many Moto users. So much that they have themselves found a workaround.
It is believed that this issue came into being after the Moto Android Pie Update. It will be noteworthy to see if this bug has been fixed in the June July Security updates for Moto G6 Play and G6 Plus or not.
