Monetization improvements bring new ‘checking’ icon on YouTube and more

YouTube is the world’s largest Video sharing platform and certainly a source of income for many. YouTube has always been taking various efforts for its content creator community. One such step is the new Monetization Improvents bringing new ‘Checking’ icon in YouTube Studio. Along with that a few other improvements like uploading videos as unlisted or private and self-certification is available for all YPP creators.

The first improvement comes as creators can now upload videos as unlisted or Private. This will give time for YouTube to check the monetization status of the video uploaded. The most cool part is, the system will check the status within 20 minutes and 1 hour at maximum.


The next feature added is the Self-Certification available for YouTube Partner Program. This feature lets creators share the content idea of their videos and how this complies with the ad guidelines of YouTube.

The improvement is certainly very fruitful as now, with the help of these icon, a creator can see the monetization status of their YouTube video. Thus a YouTuber can now know all financial information abou the video even before uploading it publically. That sure does seem like a good news.

Here’s a note added by Google on this matter –

No ads will run while the system is ‘checking’, which is another reason to upload as unlisted or private – this will give our systems the chance to accurately review your content before it starts getting public views, and help maximize your revenue.
