Microsoft’s Your Phone app can now manage Android notifications on your PC

After months of testing with Windows Insiders, Microsoft has come up with a new update to Your Phone app which will be extremely useful for professionals who move between an Android Phone and a Windows 10 PC for work or personal use.

With this update, the app can now mirror Android phone notifications so you can see them directly on your desktop. It will show new messages from Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Messenger and other apps, and if you dismiss them on your PC, it will also dismiss them on your phone. The feature is now rolling out broadly to all Your Phone users.

To use all features of the Your Phone app, users must link their Android Phone to their PC via Windows Settings or through the app itself. Users will receive an app from Microsoft, which they will need to download to your mobile phone and follow the setup prompts to get started. The Your Phone app works with Windows 10 April 2018 update (1803) or later, and requires Android 7.0 Nougat or later. Users will also need to update the app to version 1.19052.657.0 or later.

Microsoft’s Director of Program Management, Vishnu Nath stated on Twitter that the rollout has currently reached about 50 percent of PCs, but it should be completed within a week.
