The South Korean OEM, Samsung, is currently working for the forthcoming firmware update 2.0 OneUI which is based on the latest Android 10 Q. Indeed, OneUI had all the eyes on it and became proverbial in a short time since the manufacturer first announced it for a number of amazing features. All the latest Samsung Flagship phones including – Galaxy S10, Note 10, S9, Note 9, Galaxy S8, and Note 8 along with the A and M-series phones consist of OneUI.

And now the next version of this update – the OneUI 2.0 Firmware update will be  announced by Samsung. This firmware update is based on the latest Android 10 Q. Android 10 Q based OneUI 2.0 Features

According to a video released by the Brazilian Technology channel – Dudu Rocha over YouTube, a lots of features will be seen in the OneUI 2.0 along with the Android 10 goodies like –

  • Security Updates
  • Focus mode
  • Family Link
  • Sound Amplifier
  • Gesture Navigation
  • Dark theme

Now coming to the OneUI 2.0 features, am in-built screen recorder is added along with a link to Windows shortcut in the quick toggles so as to launch the Microsoft Your Phone App. There is an addition of a native support for the DeX PC App from Samsung.

There are a number of new media and devices buttons right in the notification so that it can easily and fast access the connected devices like Bluetooth devices or TV, IoT home appliances, etc.

The navigation gestures include swiping right to left or vice versa of the display to go back, swiping up from the bottom and hold to get the multi tasking menu and swiping up from the screen bottom to go to the home screen.

As in case of the OneUI 2.1 for the Samsung Galaxy S11 and S11 Plus, there’s a lot, of course, to be expected. It includes optimizations to the system, and performance improvements to the battery life, smoother animations, renovated user interface, and so on. There is also an inclusion of Dark Mode.

As of now, there is no mention of the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, or even the Note 8. Since the devices are with two years of support period, it is very unlikely the S8 and Note 8 will get the One UI 2.0 OTA update. The OneUI 2.0 update will be mentioned here whenever the ROMS are available for download.
