Last year LG has announced its flagship G8 ThinQ with some high-end specifications and features. LG G8 ThinQ, despite coming with some best in class features and pricing, it did not get a chance to stand up against the likes of OnePlus, Samsung, and etc. LG always kept it low-key since the very beginning. Although they make some decent phones at highly competitive pricing, the do not promote them.
LG G8 ThinQ was released in April 2019 and went against the OnePlus 7 series. The LG G8 ThinQ comes packed with Snapdragon 855 SoC, coupled with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. The LG G8 ThinQ was launched with Android 9 Pie with LG UX 9.0 skin on top. LG UX is feature-rich but it feels like it is an interface from 2015.
Now, a new user named fanofjapan2215, took it Reddit and posted an image that looks like an update notice. fanofjapan2215 did not mention any further details except for “LG G8 Software Update Notice (July)”. Coming to the image, it does not have any LG brand logo anywhere proving this is not an official press release.
LG G8 ThinQ Software Update Notice
Towards the left, as you can see in the image, it is mentioned
We are announcing the latest G8 ThinQ software improvements. To improve usability, please update to the latest software version as follows.
Not just that, all the list of changes or the build features were also mentioned towards the right side. LG seems like have worked on the UI elements a bit. If you are an LG user, you know how annoying is the navigation bar. It looks bulky compared to others. Now, you can also view your messages from the call log directly. UI elements will seemingly not overlap anymore.
Volume functions can be done directly from the notifications. Point color settings have been added to the notification window. The call popup size has been improved to be smaller. And lastly, you will also get the latest security patch from Google. Although there is no official conformation, this image seems legit!
The user named isaxlez replied, “Come on T-Mobile, soon”. Another user added, “Legit I’m checking two or three times a day for the update lmao I’m going crazy”. Another user added, “I’m still waiting for A10 (Android 10) on my G7”. Regardless of all this, fans seem happy and excited about the update. LG is yet to announce its latest flagship of the year. The company has recently announced the LG Velvet in some markets.
