Global OnePlus 7 (Pro) Android Q Developer Preview 2 now up for grabs, breaks ‘fastboot boot’ feature

While Android is still confused about what name should it give to its 10th Anniversary edition, OnePlus has got ahead and started calling the builds as ‘Developer Preview’. Android has confusion with two names – Queen of Pies and Quesadilla. However, not caring about this, OnePlus has been engaged in improving its user experience by making new Developer Preview builds.

Google has always preferred tagging the builds after the Beta words in a numerical way but OnePlus chose to give it a different name rather than beta – Developer Preview. Hence for OnePlus Users, it is no more Beta 4 but Developer Preview 4 or DP4.

Recently, the P2 i.e. Developer Preview 2 was released for OnePlus 7 series devices in China. A week ago, the OnePlus 6 series devices too received the DP2. The Global release is similar to Stable Pie builds and are based on Oxygen OS while the Chinese released are based on HydrogenOS.

The DP2 based on OxygenOS for OnePlus 7 series is quite similar to Chinese build since the two were compiled on the same day. The Stock Camera Updated v3.3.10 is present in the Global DP2. If you want, you can download it from the APK Mirror.

The bugs fix list of this update is quite similar to HydrogenOS. As per the announcement made by the Global Product Operations Manager of OnePlus, glitches like Display Mode not working, Low probability of having stability issues, verification window does not pop up in WIFI anonymous connection, and Reading mode not working are fixed in this update.

As you can see, this update has bought no major changes apart from Gallery and File Manager’s stock apps. Beta Testers do not receive OTA Updates, they have to be downloaded from a reliable source like ours. However, these packages will wipe out your data and hence we suggest you to take a backup first.
