Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco F1 was a sensation when launched. Poco F1 is one of the finest Android devices launched in the year 2018. It has been a global success as the device packed in some serious specifications under 25,000 INR. Now, Poco F1 started receiving a new security patch update based on Android 10.
The idea behind the Poco is very simple with the Poco F1, using previous-generation flagship SoC on a mid-range body and releasing it very aggressively.
Although Poco F1 is on the list of the devices that will MIUI 12, we are not very much sure whether the update will come with Android 10 or Android 11. Android 11 is not seemingly happening with the Pocophone F1 as the device is from the year 2018.
As for the update information, it comes to from Reddit user re4ctive who posted a screenshot of the device receiving the update carrying the version MIUI V188.8.131.52.QEJMIXM which is a stable build that weighs in about 154 MB. As for the release notes, it has been just mentioned that it is just a security patch and there are no improvements or changes of any sort.
It is very sad to see a Xiaomi device not getting MIUI 12 yet. Moreover, it is considered as the flagship device. In the comments of the Reddit post, a user named NatchoDaddy replied
Just got it as well, currently updating. Hope it doesn’t mess up my Poco F1!
To this comment, another user added
It is already messing up with your privacy
When a user named karthikbaraati asked, “What did the update bring?” re4ctive replied “Just installed it. I don’t see anything new”. That has to be expected as this is just an incremental update, that too a plain security patch update.
