Asus ZenFone Max M1 Android Pie 9.0 beta now live (Download link inside)

Asus and in fact every manufacturer company in the world tens to focus on the successor of any device. And most common way to do is by regulating the Software Updates. That is how the mobile industry works. I bet the Asus ZenFone Max M1 users are getting a taste of this brutality right now.

The Asus ZenFone Max M1 has the successor ZenFone Max Pro M1. Both these devices came at an affordable price but were later outpictured by ZenFone Max M2 and Max Pro M2. However, Asus broke this infamous convention by releasing the Android Pie Beta  Update for ZenFone Max Pro M1 just after the month ZenFone Max Pro M2 received the Same Update.

As in the case of Asus ZenFone Max M1 and ZenFone Max Pro M1, these two devices got the August 2019 Security Patch Updates. Though this proved to be a relief for all the Max M1 and Max Pro M1 users, some features of these devices were downgraded after this update. The downgrade includes No HD Streaming for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. This because the Widevine L1 support to L3 was downgraded.

After great amount of reports from the users, Asus has already started looking for a fix to this Widevine Support bug. All this while, the Asus Max M1 users did not get any Android OS updates for their devices even if they had been receiving the Security Patches. However, finally, Asus managed to pay some attention to this device by releasing the Android pie update.

However, the sad part is that this update is just a Beta version which means, it is not appropriate for use as a daily driver. This update will wipe out all the data on your device and hence you need to be careful enough to take a backup, says Asus. It is aimed for the WW SKU since it carries software version WW-16.00.1906.411.
